Easier to get into Harvard than the Fortune 500

I came across a rather discouraging statistic the other day. It stated that it is easier to get into Harvard University (about 1 in 10 chance) than to get a job at a Fortune 500 company (about 1 in 100). I suppose the natural conclusion one should draw is to give up the job search and enroll at Harvard. On the flip side, I'll wager the possibility of Harvard grads getting a job at a Fortune 500 is somewhere near 1 in 1.
